I am laying ceramic tile (12"x12") on a concrete slab. when the slab was poured, they used a hardener additive due to time constraints. I remember reading somewhere that this could cause problems with laying tile. In the areas where I have already laid the tile, the tile will come loode VERY easily (mortar and all). Do you have any suggestions. Shoud we be using a mastic instead of a mortar? Or would an acid wash to etch the concrete help the tile to adhere better?

Well, I don't know what kind of hardener they might have used, but I don't think that would be your problem. A better guess would be the wrong kind of thin set, spreading too much at once, or not having the floor completely clean. The thin set you should be using is the modified type. I'm not trying to be offensive. I'm only trying to get to the bottom of this quickly. Please don't be offended.

John :-)
