Floor tile around a Acrylic shower pan?

Should I butt or leave a gap[ when installing porcelain floor tiles around a Acrylic shower pan? I assume the pan my flex and crack the tile. If so what size gap and should it the gap be filled with silicone?

You got it, always leave a gap where materials, and planes, exist and caulk. But don't use silicone, you want to use a siliconized latex caulk, with microban, or a tile matching caulk. Silicon caulk is old tech and will eventually fail and allow mold growth behind the caulk. Have replaced too many to mention, they are always a nasty mess!

I'd be more inclined to leave a slightly larger gap, 1/8", since it's going to be covered with a caulk material you wont see it and the shower material will expand when exposed to hot water.
