Question

I have cremaic tile in my bathroom. It is in good condition, however, I want to update it with new tile that I have seen in a home improvement store. Can I tile over old tile?..If so, how do I attach the backerboard to the old tile before I lay the new tile?

tile over tile

I'm not a pro but I have done this type of tile job a few times. I assume the tile you want to cover up is mosaic tile. If they have a shine to them scuff them up with sandpaper or a grinder. Then clean the floor real good and you can just lay the tile right over the old tile. Just make sure you use a good latex modified thinset such as fullflex thats very important.
