Is there a way to remove paint from ceramic tile without damaging the tile? The previous homeowners painted over all of the ceramic tile in the house.

Removing paint from tile
I recently read a forum post where someone removed paint from tile and found that the tile's ceramic glaze had been 'roughed up' so the paint would adhere. You don't know what you will find under the paint. There are both solvent based and citrus based strippers available. You might want to take a look at the ones at http://www.savogran.com. Should the paint come of the tile successly and you find a smooth surface, you may not have so much luck with the grout and may have to replace it.
