I'm installing one quarter inch thick 12" x 12" floor tile in the bathroom. I have to drill 3 holes in the tiles to accept the routing of the cold/hot water feeds for the sink, and the cold water feed for the toilet tank. I have access under the floor for the plumbing. What drills are recommended and can I use one size for the 5/8 pipe, or start small and drill larger?

DH and I are refurbishing his 65 y/o boyhood home and we want to start by putting tile around the bathtub. When the new kitchen goes in, we will want to tile the floors and countertops. In shopping for something that is nice and appropriate for the age and style of the house, I found an 8 x 8 floor tile I would LIKE to use on the walls around the tub. To a layman such as myself, the most obvious problem with using floor tile on the wall is the lack of trim pieces but I think I can find a selection of coordinating/contrasting trim pieces to go with this marbled tile. If I can, is there anything wrong or risky with using floor tiles on the walls?? If the wall is stable and clean, must we apply backerboard? Thank you in advance for your advice... I appreciate it.
