Question grout haze on tile

My husband and I just installed tile on our floor and after wiping off the extra grout we got the haze, however now we cannot get it to come off. We have tired repeated wiping with a damp cloth and immediately buffing with a dry cloth and we have no progress. How do we get this off?

Removing grout haze

There are commercial cleaners available for grout haze. Most folks report the greatest success using an old terry cloth towel and briskly rubbing off the haze.

grout haze

What worked for me is a bucket of water only and a mop. The tile came up clean as a whistle.

You let it dry out too much before you started the wiping process.

Mix your grout and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then remix good. Spead the grout. let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then wipe down forming your grout lines.(don't use too much water) Then wipe again in one direction, not back and forth, which smears grout haze. then come back and wipe down again. what is then left will buff off with a dry towel.

Now that the grout haze has thoroughly dried, you may have to use a green scotch brite pad.
