Ceramic Tile floors

I have a small bathroom that I'm planning on installing ceramic tile
on. Which will make it look and seem larger, large 12x12 tile or small 6x6 tile?

Smaller tiles will make it seem larger.

Backerboard

I have a small bathroom that is 70"x 67" and am stuck with a good 7" of empty space when I lay the 3'x5' backerboard. I was thinking of laying it from one corner and then maybe putting more thin set on the 2" subfloor to keep the height right. Is this ok or should I cut a 7" strip of backerboard to fill it in? The cutting of the backerboards is not fun so was wondering if my short cut would have major effect on the durability. Thanks.Read More
