tile in the bathroom
#1

Hi,
I will need to replace the floor in my bathroom because the shower stall has leaked and ruined it ....probably down to the sub-flooring. I want to tile it and was wondering if it would be a good ideal to tile UNDER the shower base. The leak has taken out some of the wall around the stall on the outside of the stall. The two back walls of the stall are tiled and the lower 12-18 inches are backed with cement board. I really need to get this thing fixed. This will be the second time around for this project. The first time was handled by "pros" and as you can tell, things just didn't turn out .
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Maynard,
You must be talking about a fiberglass shower and not a tile one.
I wouldn't tile under it, but I would consider waterproofing under it and the entire bathroom floor to boot. There is a Laticrete product (9235) that will do it. It's a little expensive, but you'll never have to worry about repeating the job. Here's Laticrete:
