Angry paint removal on ceramic tile - help!

help!!!!! I have begun trying to remove several layers of paint from some ceramic tile top and/or end caps. Yesterday, I used "/bix" and had no problems. Today....I am working in different areas of the bathroom and all that is happening is that it is just turning into a sticky goop. Can anyone help or tell me what is happening? This build up goes back numerous years. I don't understand why yesterday it stripped it off quite well and today on tiles right next to ones I did yesterday, it just turns to goop. Grrrrrrrrrr! Thanks everyone!

Looks like you got us all stumped. Try surfing around a site more dedicated to paint.

Sounds weird to me.

Don't try this til someone responds: has anyone used a heat gun on tile before (I have not)? I've used a heat gun on other materials and found it works fairly well; have to be careful not to burn the substrate. It occurred to me that a heat gun may work for this, but I don't know if it would cause the tiles to crack from heat stress. Help anyone?
