I have a question I will appreciate an answer for as well as confirmation of my approach: Question - I have the synthetic (do not know what it is called) countertops with the back splash as integral part of the counter. The transitoin from the surface to the backsplash is curved. I want to remove it. What is the least destructive way of accomplishing that? Approach- Will put down exterior grade plywood and 1/4" Hardibacker on top of it. Of course the tile will be laid on the Hardibacker using thinset. Questions - What thickness should the plywood be? What adhesive should I use for the backsplash tiles? Any other words/gems of wisdom will be most helpfull as well. Thanks

The wall space between my cabinets and countertops is a 2 inch white tile with a horizontal stripe or row of burgandy tile. I was wanting to put some kind of stencil design on the burgandy to tie it into the paint color on the wall which is a sage/avacodo green. I have heard of a stencil that is almost like a sticker that you rub onto the tile by scratching with a penny kind of like a tempory tatoo works. I can't find anything like this in the store and I don't know where to begin to look.
