Mixing thinset

Mixing thinset
I don't need to use a whole bag of thinset and was wondering what the proper consistency is for it after you mix it, mine seems to be creamy as stated on the bag and sticks to my finger it touched does this seem correct. And what is the normal "slake" time for it before you mix it up alittle before use.
Thank You for any help

Slake time
Slake time is usually 5-10 minutes before mixing again. Use proportionate ratio of water to thinset if mixing smaller batches rather than the whole bag. The consistency I have seen installers use is like cake frosting or toothpaste.
