I grouted a kitchen and bath on the same day . I used white in the kitchen and gray in the bathroom. The problem occurred when I went to wipe off the excess grout after it set for an hour. I obviously didn't do a good job of rinsing clean the sponge after wiping the kitchen and proceeding to the bathroom. As a result, the bathrrom grout, rather than being uniformly gray, is gray, white and grayish-white, depending on what area got more white residue from the kitchen. It of course has to be a very thin layer; still, it hardened and stuck to the gray grout. How can I get the white off? Scrape? Maybe just paint or stain the grout gray? Some kind of grout cleanser? Also, this is in a basement so if it doesn;t look perfect, I can live with it, but I would liek to get rid of teh bulk of the white. Thanks.

:confused: I am tiling the kitchen. Half of the grouting is done. I used a colored grout, a tan color. It appears as if there is a shading in the grout all over. I am not sure that it is white as I have seen in questions. It just appears somewhat varied. I mixed up the grout very well by hand. I did not see any dry spots in the mix. I am not sure if I used too much water, it was the consistency of peanut butter. I was also wondering if I should remix the grout for the rest of the kitchen with the same consistency so there is no variation and use something to try and get the color more even, what do you think??? Any advice would be wonderful. Vicki
