Ceramic tile in kitchen over linolium
I was thinking about either putting a ceramic tile floor or a wood floor in our kitchen. The problem is the current linolium floor looks ~30 years old and Im worried about asbestos if I try to remove it. Thus, Im kind of stuck with putting in a new floor over the top of the linolium.
Any suggestions for a ceramic tile (12"x12" tiles) floor over the existing linolium? Is it possible without creating too much additional floor height difference between neighboring rooms.

hacker, check out Ditra. It's a thin underlayment system that can be used over vinyl. The web site has a video and also provides a 800 # for tech support. Go to www.schluter.com
