can a chipped tile be touched up?

We haven't even grouted the tiles yet, and my husband dropped a hammer off a ladder and chipped the face of a tile. Can a small chip off the face of a ceramic tile be touched up with something and be ok? The tile is not cracked. Is there a certain type of paint we should use? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you have not grouted you may want to take the tile up and replace it. other than that you have to try to match the color and paint it or live with the chip

There is a product called "Porcefix" (spelling?) - Home Depot sells it. It comes in a limited selection of colors, but if you can find a good match it may work.

Replacing the tile is the way to go...but..nail polish works pretty good..and comes in thousands of colors.

Is tile the "right" thing to do here?

I just installed corian countertops and they have a 4 inch backsplash. My wife had wanted to put decorative tile on the wall as a backsplash up to the bottom of the cabinets. But now as I look for tile ideas, all I see are tiles that go all the way down to the countertop - none start above an inegrated counter/backsplash like mine will and I am having a hard time visualizing if it will look stupid or not. The Corian splash is not real thick so the tiles will probably be the same depth (with mastic) maybe a little shallower. Ideas??? Pictures?? Help?? :confused:Read More

I am installing a ceramic tile backsplash in my kitchen, and have cut the tiles to fit around the 4 electrical outlets on the wall, so that the outlet covers will cover the edges of the tile. But now the outlets themselves are too far back in the wall, they don't come out even with the tile. Is there some sort of spacer you put on the outlets to make them stick out even with the new tile wall? How does that work?Read More
