Wallpaper - orange peel walls
I have "orange peel" walls with just "builder" paint on them - the house is about 2 years old and I want to wallpaper a hallway. I have put up borders in several bathrooms and bedrooms with sanding or doing anything to the walls other than cleaning them and then hanging the border. Should I do anything to these walls since I will be hanging wallpaper on all the walls and then a border which will be at chair-rail height?

Please, please.........for the sake of yourself or the future owner, use a wallcovering primer over the areas that the wallpaper/border will go over. If not, it will be a nightmare to remove!!
Go to your favorite paint/home improvement store and find a wallpaper primer. There are a ton of them out there, but be careful!!! It must state specifically on the can "suitable for under wallcoverings" or something similar. There are many brands to choose from, but I hope you leave with a can that has Zinsser on the label.
