We have purchased an older home and the wallpaper in the bathrooms seem to be about 40 years old and very stuck on the walls. What is the best way to remove them from plaster over wallboard walls?

I just removed very old wallpaper from my walls. I used a product called DIF. You brush it on and leave it for about 20 minutes and then scrape it off. It's very easy and works well.

After removing old wall paper, how do you prepare the wall(drywall) for painting? The DIF I used with the scraping resulted in pitted walls especially at the corners

Mary, The DIF didn't damage the walls. Spackling compound will work fine. Make sure all the wall paper paste has been removed, patch the walls, prime, and paint.
