Paper Illusions & torn paper technique? I've seen walls

done where the wallpaper has been torn in random pieces and adhered to the wall--looks beautiful when done w/the right patterned paper. I went to buy some paper to do this, and the salegirl said you can only do it successfully w/a product called Paper Illusions, which is meant to be torn and layered. She told me regular wallpaper will not adhere well when layered (just the edges overlap in this technique). Does anyone here have any experience with the wallpaper tearing and any advice? TIA

I am trying it

I have not done it yet but I went and checked it out and it seems like it will be easy and pretty. If you have done it let me know how you like it. I have major problem walls and heard that this technique helps hide the flaws.
