Wall for garage

I recently moved into a condo with an attached garage, which for the most part seems unfinished ith just bare drywall. I'd like to "modernize" it a bit. Do most people paint on top of it, or add some other kind of paneling? I prefer not to paint if possible. I thought wallpaper might be the way to go, but I'm not sure what's commonly done in garages.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unless you go with paneling you first need to finish the drywall. Basically mud and tape all joints and fill all screw/nail heads. If you go with paneling you may need to remove trim boards or carefully fit the paneling around them.

Don't know that I have ever seen wallpaper in a garage but that doesn't mean it can't [or shouldn't] be done. The drywall does need to finished and primed prior to hanging wallpaper. Most garages have the walls painted.
