Varnish on my Wallpaper
Help
I have been varnishing my bannister and have got some varnish on my wallpaper, what the best way to remove it without damaging the wallpaper.

As marksr said you are probably screwed. But maybe not. Depends on what kind of varnish it was.
If it is oil based (Should tell you on the can, if it cleans up with paint thinner it's oil) then it's bad. Paint thinner might get it off but it will almost certainly take the finish off the wallpaper.
If it is water based then products like Goof Off will often lift it without damage. Just take it sloooooooow and easy.

It depends on the type of wallcovering you have. The only prayer you have is if this is fabric backed or heavy vinyl covering. It also needs to be removed before any kind of dry time takes affect. If still soft try to fingernail it off with paint thinner. Good luck!
