Question

I am ready to wallpaper 2 bathrooms. Is there special preparation needed on the walls so that the wallpaper will withstand the humidity in bathrooms? I've seen bathrooms where the wallpaper will pull away from the walls due to the dampness and I want to avoid this. My walls are a combination of old wallpaper that have been removed and painted walls.

Don't rely on the paste on the pre-pasted paper. It isn't enough for a bathroom. Remove as much of the old paper as you can. Remove the old paste from the walls.

Prime with Sheildz (by zinsser). This is a primer and sizing all in one.

Apply additional paste and hang the paper.
