wallpaper on floors

I heard it was possible to use wallpaper to cover floor surfaces. Is this possible? What type of paper is used and how would one go about installing, using the right adhesive compared to basic wall covering.

I can't recall any specifics on it, but I was just reading a book this weekend by Sarah Susanka called "Creating the Not So Big House." One of the homes featured in the book uses wallpaper as floorcovering, and there is a small section explaining why and how the homeowners did this.
