expansion gaps

One more drywall question.

When installing the drywall I assume there should be left " to " gap between the concrete floor
and the edge of the drywall.
Floor to ceiling is = 8' no matter how you put it drywall has to be shaved off ~ 1'
What is the better way to do it? Should the gap on to be the same as on the bottom?

Thanks,

i prefer to leave a gap between concrete floors and sheetrock but a gap anywhere else is just more difficult to mud and tape. you don't have to worry about expansion, contraction in sheetrock.
be nice to your mudder!
