Hello Hollywood.....

Tripper here.....I got my drywall hung on my ceiling. Ya!

I had alot of recessed lighting to cut around and you suggested to tack the sheets up over the lights and use a router to cut around the inside of the cans .

Didn't have a router, so I got a sawing drill bit, measured to the middle of the can, drilled in and rode the inside of the can and cut-out the drywall. Had to go around with a knife to get the cans to fall through, and it came out dandy!

Ok, here's my next question: I was going to texture spray the ceiling but a few people have recommended a proceedure that comes out looking somewhat like stucco....roll over?? or something like that.

It involves dabbing mud onto the ceiling and going over it with a trowel.....I've heard.

What do you know about this? Ever here of it? How do you do it?

Please let me know....Trip

glad to hear your almost there.

Hey when you were cutting out those cans no need to find the center just drill into it and bring the bit to the side of the can and carefully pull out the bit and move it 1/8" and your on the outside of the can

Then just go around it and it will pop into place.

Anyways

I" think"hat you are referring to is "Knock Down" Texture

You spray it on with a hopper gun and then a few minutes later you "Knock it Down"

it's look's awesome in my opinion and if you had any finishing troubles it's sure to cover it.

I'll try to get you some info and repost.

'Please don't tell me you're going to try this'
