noise control

Hello,

What can I do to reduce (eliminate) noise that is going to the down stairs in my town house. When you are in the lower level you can hear every foot step, every conversation, music, tv, everyting. I noticed that between the downstairs ceiling and the upstairs wood floors it seems to be empty. no insulation, noting. Just electric wires and duct work.

The lower level has a low ceilling so I can't really put additional stuff on it. What are the options I have to take care of the noise problem?

Thank you in advance,

Henock

If you will run a search on soundproofing, you will find many posts dealing with this exact issue.
