Crown Moldiing

I am planning to install Crown Molding. i have done this before but I mitered both pieces to fit the corner. I would like to use a coping saw this time. When mitering the piece to be coped is it place against the fence of the miter saw vertical or is it mitered at the angle it will be installed?

You cut it as if you were to fit it in the normal fashion. Then the coping saw. Coping is so much more easily successful in making a good inside joint.

I always have to stop and think before cutting each piece to envision exactly how I want it to be once cut.
