Exclamation cedar lining in the closet

I’ve got a question on installing a Cedar Lining for a closet.
It’s a ¼” thick and on the box it says to use a 11/2 long colored nails.
My question is: How can I use my compressor and the nail gun to put it on?
Or should I? It’s just sucks to have a compressor and not been able to use it…

Thanks,

I imagine that the colored nails are for appearance. I would drag out the compressor and gun and put it that way.

Thumbs up thanks

Thanks Chris,

I have a 1¾ brad nails but will they hold up in the ¼ soft cedar wood? Or I am better off using staples rather then nails? I don’t care much about the appearance of the project, after all it’s just a closet plus after a while this nails/staples would presumably get some rust on them & blend with the wood?….

Thanks

I don't know how much abuse the cedar will get. I imagine that the colored nails don't have much more of a head than your brads. If it would make you feel better, use the staples. After all, feeling as if you won't have to bother with the job again later on is worthwhile.

If you really don't want to mess with it again use some liquid nails along with your brads or staples.
