cutting hole for vent pipes

cutting hole for vent pipes
I need to make two 4-inch holes in my kitchen walls for the dryer vent pipe and the vent hood pipe. Right now I have the drywall off and am down to just the studs and outer walls. I am not sure how many layers of siding are on my house--it is old. What is the best way to cut these holes? Should I use a saber saw?
Thanks,
Catherine

Hi Catherine.
Could go with the saw-saw, but I'd use a 4" hole saw with your electric drill, it'll give you a cleaner hole.
Basically it's a round saw blade that will fit on a 1/4" driver for your elec. drill, can pick one up at the big box joints or your local hardware store.
Good luck.
