Mildew & Mold in walls & ceiling drywall

My little apartment at back of main house has some major roof leaks. The water rolls off the big house slant roof onto the flat tin roof on my place and finds its way through the cracks. Some major black spots are showing in some places, but it doesn't look moldy like in other places. Is there anything to do except remove the wallboards and put on a new roof? The only way I am surviving with this is that in the desert there's not much rain AND the place drys out pretty quickly with warm temps. I really appreciate some do it yourself ideas because there's not much money to fix. Maybe it is adviseable to blow it up Thanks.

Unless you fix the roof, nothing else will work.

Try putting a rain gutter on the main roof.
