drywall size

My husband just brought home 3/8" drywall. We are finishing a 4 season sunroom and had removed the house siding. Can we use this ? He bought home 5 sheets.It will go on either plywood or some foam insulation

3/8" drywall is good for 16" stud spacing on walls that do not require extra fire rating (such as a wall separating a garage).

1/2 inch is better. will be straighter and easier to hang.

im removing part of a drop ceiling to put sheetrock up on the ceiling. what should i use to cut the drop ceiling frames? hacksaw? i ask because i don't have anything currently to cut it with, and i would have to goto the local hardware store and buy something.

uneven floor

im trying to put up a wall to divide a basement. the concrete floor is uneven and slightly slopes down. how should i go about correcting this problem? should i cut each of the 2x4 studs to fit, or should i make them all the same size, smaller rather then larger, and shim the ones that arent long enough?
