hello, my deck turned out find. In fact, so well that a friend of mine wants me to help her build her deck. My house is wood, whereas her's is bricks. How do I attach a ledger board to a brick wall? Do I use lag screws to or some type of cement screws? Thank you, Yvonne:)

Hey there, this is my first time using these forums but they seem pretty helpful and friendly :) Sorry in advance if you don't fully understand everything I write, I'm fairly new to do it yourself projects. Here's my problem, I hope someone can help me out with it. My sister is moving back in this Thursday, meaning she gets my bedroom and I'm moving into the basement. The problem is the room I will be getting has a big hallway with our laundry room, shower and garage directly off of it. My dad's bedroom is also directly off of my room (but right by the door). We wanted to put in a partition to make the entrance to his room and mine seperate. The idea is a straight wall, then a 45 degree angle with the door, then another straight wall (90 degrees to the first, but off the 45 degree angled wall, if you understand what I mean). So my dad knows how to install walls (he built our house) but wants me to take on the project so I have the experience. He told me to look up on the internet about installing walls/partitions, whether we should use a permanent or temporary wall (as we don't know if I'm moving away for college in a year). In short, my question is: Where would I find a (simple to understand) guide/tutorial for putting in a wall or partition? What about materials? I'm also interested in sound-proofing (or sound lessening?). What about permanent or temporary, is there a major difference cost wise?
