Unhappy

We are in the midst of a room addition and have encountered many unexpected glitches. The most recent is with our aluminum siding. When we built our home seven years ago, we chose taupe (light tan with a pinkish hue) as the color of our siding. I have contacted the original builder for information on the siding used and he told me that siding manufacturers often change their pallets, a form of planned obsolescence. So with no direction from our original builder, I hit the internet and looked at several manufacturers and dealers, with no luck. We have had absolutely no luck even finding a taupe siding, much less anything close. As construction is nearing completion on our addition, we are faced with a couple of expensive and laborious options: re-side the entire house, or prime/paint the new siding to match the existing taupe.

Are these truly our best options, and what would you recommend we do?

Go for the biggest bang for your hard earned bucks!

Have you costed the job going both directions yet?

I can't think of another option that would be less costly or make it look better.
