Smile Walls

How do you tell what is a low-bearing wall vs a non-bearing wall?

Thanks

if the ceiling joists run perpendicular (at right angles) to the wall it is giving support to the ceiling. Though it may not be the main or only wall giving this support. Describe this wall in more detail. Does it run the full length of the house?, is it part of a wall that runs the legtn of the house with a door(s) in it? is it one of the walls enclosing a stairwell?

re:

No stairwell. The walls are only half the house. They seprate the kitchen and Living room, the walls run parallel to the joist. No doors are in these walls. I think the walls where just tacked up before we bought the house, they all move and slide (they are loose).

Thanks again
