haven't posted anything here for a long time because you guys give such good answers to everything. but i had to agree with bruce on ceiling sheetrock size. (1/2" on 16" centers and 5/8" on 24" centers) not being a professional i did some research. would like you all to go www.gypsum.org. select architects, engineers, and designers then technical/topical papers. then read the water based spray textures on ceilings.

Link didn't work for me. I also agree with 1/2" on 16oc and 5/8" on 24. If the building code calls for that. Some places have stricked fire code and you need 5/8" on most of your structure so some just do all 5/8". Of course I'm speaking of new drywall hung on open joists.
