Why is it I get like airbubbles in my paper? Does the mud let off air when drying? Am I pressing mud out of the tape. Should the first coat go on real smooth with no pin holes in it? Working the mud too much, not enough? Green lid all purpose in this case. Working time also seems shorter than I would think on premix mud.

Ahhh..the drywall blues....Getting an EVEN amount of mud under the tape is key. Personally I went to the fiberglass tape and never looked back...

Wet the tape before you put it up and make sure you've got enough mud across the seam. Press the knife down firmly & evenly, & firmly, start in the center of the seam & work to the ends. If you're doing alot of area, invest a few $$ in a banjo. Lot of diyers & some pros like the mesh better for this reason. Wasn't even thought of when I started slingin mud. Good luck.
