exposed brick walls in living room

I removed old plaster from the party wall in my 1890's rowhouse. The brick is lovely and I'd like to leave that look. Is there a material to seal this which will not make a shiny finish? Or is it even necessary to seal the wall? I am just worried that the mortar will made the room dusty. Any ideas?

This is not soething I have any experience with, coops may have some ideas or you may want to post this one either in the Painting or Brick, Stone, & Masonry forums for some ideas. Good luck.

There are several masonary sealers. You will have to go to your local paint store and ask. Ask for a clear sealer. It will definitely keep the dust down.
