drop ceiling

I was told that i should drop the ceiling down6" but the recessed lighting can fit between floor joists. The only reason to leave the ceiling down 6" is to move the tiles. That seems like more the enough room.

If you're asking if 6" is enough of a drop for the suspended lid, I'd say yes.

If nothing else is in the way then I think 6" is plenty if not too much.

armstrong directions list a drop minimum of 3" for residential ceiling tile packages and a minimum of 2.5" for a commercial package.

Note> Their are alot of notes so first read the directions which come with the tiles before fasteneing the frame.

6" is for lights 2x4or2x2 also the shorter the wires the harer ther gonna be to tie 3 wraps in 3"
