blend plaster walls with drywall

We are doing a little remodeling in our 80 year old house. Our house is completly covered in plaster. I am concerned with the relocation a doorway. What can we fill in the door with or technique can we use on drywall to fill in the door and match the rest of the Plaster wall?? We really don't want to redo the entire wall we drywall, but we want the patched-up/filled in area to look nice.

After hanging the rock in the door opening, use a whitecoat plaster to cover the rock and blend it in with the existing plaster. Good luck.
