Question re texturing ceiling

I had some patch up work done on my kitchen ceiling. The texture that was done does not match at all to the existing texture (a five scrub brush pattern). I would like to take that texture off and redo to match better. I have thought to either wet the texture then scrape off or sand it off. Which would be better/easiest way? Or is there an even better way?

If it has not been painted then it will come off. Try getting it wet then scraping. If it has been painted then it will be a lot harder.

Thanks,
It was not painted. I wet it down with a spray bottle and scraped it off. It came off pretty easily.
