Need help quick!!!

Can anyone tell me what the maximum load carrying capacity "PSI" for 1/2" sheetrock over 22" span also 3/8" on the same span.

This is concerning a new home with blown in cellulose insulation that is putting a fair ammount of pressure on the ceiling drywall. It's enough pressure that the drywall is bowing slightly (1/8") between the ceiling joists.

The insulation in not packed in but just the sheer weight of the material due to the span and 12" depth.

Thanks

I don't know the load bearing capacity (you may want to google search on that), but as info, building code in many areas requires 5/8" drywall on the ceiling, not 3/8" or 1/2".

Anything over 16" requires 5/8" rock or it will bow without any weight on it at all.
