Need advise on removing plastered walls.

When removing a plastered wall, is there some secret to cutting and removing the expanded metal corners? These always are killers to pull off and when you do, there is always more damage to the remaining walls. This is a home that was built in the late 50's so I assume that it is plaster over wallbord rather than lath strips. Is that a correct assumption?

The plaster was placed over rock lath or button board, if not wood lath.
A sawzall will cut the expanded metal lath corner reinforcement, but is more effective when used prior to any plaster being removed.

If the wall you are removing is load bearing, support both sides with temporary walls prior to removing.
