just removed popcorn ceiling, now what?
My wife and I decided to remove our popcrap ceiling by doing the work ourselves. We took precuations assuming it had asbestos since the condo was built in '72. After we took off the popcorn, we did a very light sanding and then wiped down the entire cieling with a damp cloth. After it dried, I applied a primer, but now we can see all the little dimples from the nails that's holding the drywall in place as well as some taping. Was I supposed to mud the entire ceiling first then apply the primer?
I am a DIY newbie so laymens terms would help out a lot. What do I do? Thanks.

since popcorn texture covers just about everything then the drywall finisher doesn't have to do a complete job. So after you take it off you must complete the job. Go over all the joints and nail with mud. 2 more coats should do. If you put your ten or twelve inch knife across the seams you will see how much you have to fill. Give it a try and report back with more questions.
