dry wall surface ripped..help...

Hello,

While removing a poster taped to the wall, I managed to take some of the wall with the poster and now the wall is exposed. Is there anyway I can patch this up? Is there something I could purchase which rubs onto the wall and matches its surroundings?

My first instinct was to paint over top of it, however, I remember doing that a while back and the painted region was discolored from the rest.

Thanks in advance for the support!

hi
get some drywall compound and a drywall spatula (scrapper) to cover it up.
sand between coat and applied new coat to cover it.
once its dry lightly sand smooth and get some kilz in a spray can and spray it over the patch.the kilz will act as a sealler thne just repaint over it.

cheers

look at this article for more detail on the patching - however the important sealer coat is not mentioned here - don't miss that step. http://www.doityourself.com/patch/plastercracks.htm
