Hanging Chair

A customer of mine wants to hang a chair from the ceiling of her living room. Any suggestions. Its a regular sheetroock and joist setup.

If you can get above the ceiling I would sure feel better if you put a block across two joists and used a hook with a long bolt and a large washer through the block. Double nut the bolt.

I agree with Tightcoat, the more support you've got up there the better. Hanging chairs and such can be a liability, same deal with porch swings.
