Pocket door unusable

Have a pocket door that is blocked off because of carpet. The door will not go over the carpet. Carpet must have been put in after door. Where do I go from here to get it working? $$$????

The pocket door should have a release tab on the top of the door located in the front and back. It might take a screwdriver to pop them open. The door will then come off the track and you can ease it out of the frame. Some of the never ones have adjusters on them which will allow you to move the door higher, if not then we need to cut the door down by a 1/2" or so. You will need a skill saw for the cut. To protect the wood (especially if the door is veneer and not solid) it is best to put a 2" wide piece of masking tape on the area you will be cutting. This helps stop splintering the edge of the door. Measure up 1/2" on each end and using a straight line of some sort draw a line the length of the door. Make sure the cutting depth of the saw is below the underside of the door. Cut slowly but maintain an even pace. You may have to sand down the edge and repaint/varnish. Hope this helps!
