Rust showing on tape before taping

I'm ready to take the final inside corners of my basement w/the flexible corner tape (the kind with 2 strips of metal on one side). I've noticed rust spots on the metal strips about every 10 inches and it is showing through the tape.

If I mud this tape into the corner, will the rust eventually show through the mud and paint job? I'd hate to have to tear this stuff out 6 months from now

Thanks in advance,
John

I would use regular paper tape for inside corners. No need for the flex bead.

A good coat of an oil base primer will prevent any rust from bleeding through the paint.
