Cieling keeps cracking!

We knocked down a ceiling and put in a half wall and now the ceiling portion where the old wall used to be seems to be expanding and contracting with the seasons... every time i patch it up a few months later the crack seems to come back when the weather changes. The crack extends about 4 feet out. Does anybody have some suggestions on what I can do to keep this crack from coming back? I can provide pictures if that would help. Thanks!

Is it possible that the wall removed was load-bearing? If the crack appears with a change in season that suggests to me that something (probably the ceilin joists) are contracting and expanding as they do and the stress is tranferring down to your ceiling. If this was a load bearing wall you may need to think about building a supported header where your wall used to be.
