Do I texture first and then prime? or Do I Prime first and then texture?

The instructions on your texture material - if like mine - suggest you prime before texturing to allow for a more even drying of the texture materials.
I just finished texturing my new addition on new construction - and did it the opposite way (don't ask me why)... seems to be working out just fine.. My personal rationale is that the prime coat ($200 worth) also seals the new texture material - allowing a more even first coat of final paint.
For what it's worth - and you know what it cost you..

Although priming before texture can alleviate any drying discrepancies with the texture - this usually isn't an issue. Texture should always be primed, this seals the wall/texture and allows the top coat to cover evenly and be more washable.
