Water Marks on the walls and ceiling

Hello all,
This is my first time on this site so I have no clue of what I am doing. Please bare w/ me. I do have a question. I just bought a condo which is 5 years old 6 months ago. Now I am seeing water spots around the vent area of the first floor and one part of the wall by the sliding door has water mark as well. There is also a water mark underneath the kitchen sink, the back wall. What can cause this? and since I bought the supplemental insurance w/ch protect you for any damage in the house on your first year or so, is that covered?

Welcome to the forums

First I have no idea as to what the insurance covers. I'm sure your agent should be able to inform you.

Obviously the stains are caused by water. To make them disappear you would need to first prime them with kilz [or similiar product]. This will keep the stain from bleeding through the paint.

Before you fix the cosmetics you need to fix the cause. It may be something simple that a little caulk will fix but it could also mean a lack of [or improperly installed] flashing. Also make sure there aren't any plumbing issues.
