What kind of wall around the bathtub

Hi all of you,
newbie on this forum,
I am doing some reno in a mini home and I have to redo the wall in the bathroom. I do not want to install drywall or plastic and I would like to know wath kind of wall could I use.

Use the 1/2" Wonderboard or Durock then. If you want a smooth wall, skim coat the walls, sand, prime, paint. Don't forget - green drywall is ok for bathroom walls.

Check it out at Lowes, it's described as "moisture resistant" and is a tad more expensive than standard half-inch rock.

If you don't want drywall because of it's appearance, then greenboard isn't for you. It looks exactly like drywall because it is drywall with a water "resistant" coating.

What "look" are you going for?
