Question Ceiling Tiles

I am remodeling my kitchen (approx 120 sq feet) and am considering the ceiling tiles. Because of the cost I cannot afford to use real metal tiles.

I have found alternatives made of PVC, polystyrene, wallpaper, styrofoam.

Has anyone used any of these, seen in a home or known someone who has? If so, please post any and all thoughts ideas you have.... Is there another alternative that you liked that is not listed? Things you liked, didn't like, long term potential problems....

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

No responses?

Well, let me try another question. Does anyone think these look tacky and wouldn't consider them as a ceiling treatment?

What is your budget $$$,and what prices have you gotten for the metal panels you would rather use.

I am trying to stay between 100 - 150. The more I save on tiles the more I can spend on lighting. (plan on installing recessed lighting)

Thoughts?
